Autumn 1 - Our topic this term is All About Me

This half term we will be settling into Year 1 life. Our focus is on 'Me and My Family'. We will be exploring our feelings - what makes us happy, what makes us sad etc. We will be learning different ways to manage our emotions and be able to explain how we feel. We will also be celebrating our families and learning that everyone's families are different and special. 

Our History question for this half term is 'I wonder what life was like for my parents and grandparents?' We will be looking at school life, favourite TV programmes, favourite toys and looking at similarities and differences. 

In English we will be reading the book 'What makes me, a me?' by Ben Faulks. We will be celebrating how special we all are, and writing some fabulous sentences to share with our families.

In Maths we will be understanding numbers to 10, sorting, counting, comparing and ordering them.
