Phonics

In Year 1 we are practising all our phonics and working hard to become fluent readers.

You can help your child by:

• Reading with your child every night
• Practise reading the digraphs and trigraphs with your child
• Practise reading our ‘tricky words’
• Practise reading alien words

Maths

In maths we are becoming experts at counting in 2s, 5s and 10s.

We are  learning by heart our number bonds to 10 and 20.

We have been learning to add and subtract numbers to 20.
