We launched our topic this half term by following the adventures of Tim Peake in space. Using Google Maps we decided on some geographical regions to explore with Dora The Explorer. We went under the oceans and into the Polar Regions before learning about smaller local geographical features.
A trip To Nottingham Castle was enjoyed by all and gave us the opportunity to really develop an understanding of our world.
In languages week we learnt about Spain and some Spanish greetings. We also enjoyed singing Spanish songs and practising our flamenco dancing.
Our final destination for Dora has been China where we have learnt about Chinese New Year and made dragons and had a go at writing the Chinese words for the animals in the story.
For “Shake-up Your Wake-up” week, we had a breakfast morning and invited parents and carers to share some healthy breakfasts with us. We all enjoyed trying different foods together.
We have visited Meadows Library and chosen books and heard stories.
To help us and inspire us with our reading and story writing, we had a visit from a local author, Kim Slater. She read us a story and we made up a story together. It was great fun.
